WHY WE LOVE LINEN CHAMBRAY
Where warm cocooning hues meet luxurious textures.

With our Collection Unfold being so abundant in linen chambray, we thought it was about time to delve into this cornerstone of our ranges both past and present, and its importance in our interiors.
What is this beautiful fabric?

Linen chambray is a lightweight, durable fabric woven with a blend of linen fibres that showcase a subtle, lustrous cross-weave texture. Its unique charm lies in the combination of chambray's casual elegance with linen's natural fibres and breathability, making it a versatile choice for bedding and accessories.
How is it made?

The manufacturing process of chambray involves weaving the warp and weft threads together in a plain weave pattern. The warp thread, which runs vertically, is often dyed in a solid color or sometimes space dyed to create variegation. The weft thread, running horizontally, is either left undyed or in a contrasting color, creating the distinctive chambray effect.
What is the effect that it achieves?

The surfaces of these beautiful woven fabrics possess layers of character and interest, enhancing the overall aesthetic impact of your sanctuary. Upon closer inspection there are more colours to be seen, adding depth and lustre.
How do I incorporate it into my home?

Achieve a cocooning effect by using a flat colour paint on walls, enveloping your space in a comforting embrace. This creates the perfect backdrop for chambray pieces as the variegation in colour stands out and textures on their surface such as hand-stitching and embroidery are emphasised. Chambray woven cushions and coverlets work particularly well in the bedroom, where warm hues meet luxurious textures to create a space that envelops you in comfort.
What are the benefits of linen chambray?

Durable: Chambray is strong, even though it is light. It withstands being worn and washed a lot.
Non-Stretch: Chambray doesn't usually stretch, so it keeps its shape well over time.
Natural Fibres: Linen chambray is made from natural fibres, so it is safe for people with sensitive skin.
Tactile: Embroidery and hand-stitching enlivens the surface of our linen chambray products, giving them texture. We are more inclined to interact with texture as opposed to a flat surface or material. People tend to want to reach out and touch these pieces, whereas a solid item can easily be passed by. Our indulgent range of chambray cushions and comforters are irresistibly tactile, containing stories of nature and culture woven into their designs, thread by overlapping thread.
