PRODUCT CARE
QUILTED BEDSPREADS, COVERLETS & DUVET COVERS
-
Made of 100% linen, cotton or a combination of both, these bedspreads can be machine washed on a delicate cycle in lukewarm water. We suggest you use a professional dry cleaning company and ask for the item to be wet washed and line dried.
- If washing at home in your own washing machine, do not overload as the bedspread needs to move freely inside to avoid any damage.
-
Avoid spot cleaning or soaking as this may cause the fabric to bleed.
-
Do not bleach, dry clean or tumble dry.
-
Hang to dry promptly after washing.
-
Gently pull bedspread into shape while still damp to reduce shrinkage of 5-7%.
-
Avoid direct sunlight.
-
Natural dyes have been used in the dying and printing of these fabrics so there may be some fading over time. This adds to the heirloom nature of the bedspread.

SHEETS
WASHING
- Wash sheets weekly to help prevent discolouration.
- Wash whites and darks separately at 40°C.
- Avoid boiling, bleach and enzyme-based detergents, which can damage natural fibres.
- Dissolve detergent completely before adding sheets.
DRYING
- For best results, air dry sheets outdoors.
- Avoid tumble drying where possible.
- Fold sheets as soon as they come off the line to minimise creasing.
IRONING
- Iron sheets while slightly damp for the best results.
- Use a steam iron and lightly mist with water if they become too dry.
- Fold sheets lengthways when ironing for easier handling.
- For embroidered or embellished sheets, iron on the reverse side to protect the detailing.
- Natural fibres soften over time, making creasing less noticeable.
SILK FILLED PRODUCTS
-
Isolate the soiled area only and hand wash with cold water and a very gently washing agent. (A special silk washing agent is perfect.)
- Do not use bleach or strong detergents.
-
Rinse thoroughly and squeeze excess water by pressing the two sides of the silk product together.
-
Do not wring.
-
Dry flat.
-
Dry cleaning uses chemicals which may damage the silk fibres and it is not recommended.
-
Do not tumble dry or iron.
- Do not shake silk product strongly as this may displace the hand layered silk floss.
SILK PILLOWCASES:
- Hand-wash in cold water and use a small amount of gentle detergent.
- Do not wring or squeeze water out, instead lay your pillowcase on a clean, dry towel and gently roll it up to remove the excess moisture.
- Dry flat in a shady spot out of direct sunlight.
- Do not tumble dry as this can shrink or damage the fabric.
KITCHEN LINEN
- Pre-soaking before first use in cold water for 24 hours prior to washing will open up the fibres, optimising absorbency from the get-go.
- Wash on a warm machine cycle (30-40 degrees) with a small amount of detergent. Wash separately from items with zips or clasps that can catch.
- Avoid using fabric softeners or harsh cleaning agents.
- Run through the tumble dryer to maintain shape and create a softer feel than line drying.
GATHER TABLEWARE
- Microwave and dishwasher safe, treat with care. Handwashing recommended.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g. freezer to oven) to prevent thermal shock.
- Place hot items onto wood or cloth, not cold surfaces.
- Dark liquids or foods and cooking oil or fats may stain the unglazed outer portion if left for any period of time. We recommend washing with soap and a soft cloth.
- If the stain remains, we recommend making a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water and giving a gentle scrub with a sponge or a toothbrush. A paste of dish soap and bicarbonate of soda also works well.
CARING FOR YOUR YARN
Knowing the correct care process is essential for fibre preservation and keeping it clean. We recommend referring to the original yarn label for fibre content and care symbols.
Wool and cashmere garments do not need washing very often. Simply airing them out in humid outdoor conditions can refresh them effectively. If you do need to wash a garment, follow the instructions below.
Hand wash your garments in cool or lukewarm water using a mild detergent approved for wool care, such as Soak Wash. Do not agitate, scrub or twist, simply soak for 15-20 minutes.
If required, rinse gently in clean, cool water.
Without wringing or twisting, lay the garment flat on a dry bath towel, roll the towel up with the item inside and press firmly.
Transfer your garment to another dry towel and lay flat, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Flip the garment after 12 hours for the other side to dry completely.
When storing, fold, rather than hang. This will help retain its shape.
